Please join the Washington State Women's Commission as we observe the National Day of Awareness for Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls on May 5, 2021.

The Women's Commission is committed to increasing safety and access to justice for American Indian and Alaska Native women and girls, by elevating awareness to this critical issue of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.

We need action now, and we are proud to host a panel discussion on steps forward with:

• Representative Debra Lekanoff, representing the 40th House district;
• Patricia Whitefoot, former President and current 2nd Vice President of the National Indian Education Association; and
• Abigail Echo-Hawk, Director of the Urban Indian Health Institute and Executive Vice President at the Seattle Indian Health Board.

This panel discussion will be hosted on Zoom, and moderated by Commissioner Vicki Lowe.
