Our Values

Our values reflect our commitment to equity, access, and community voice. They guide how we show up—in policy spaces and in partnership with communities—to serve the diverse needs of women and girls across Washington.

Community

Community is a collective where mutual support, inclusivity and shared goals drive its strength. Members offer encouragement and assistance, fostering trust and solidarity. By valuing diverse perspectives and working together, they create a sense of belonging and achieve common objectives. Building community involves trust, transparency, and collaboration, celebrating both shared goals and individual contributions.

Effectiveness

Effectiveness is the ability to reach desired outcomes and achieve goals efficiently and successfully. This involves using resources and optimizing processes in the most productive way to produce the best results. This value emphasizes a results-oriented approach, ensuring that every action and decision contributes to achieving long-term success with measurable, positive impacts in serving the women of Washington.

Inclusion

We make a proactive effort to center the voices and needs of underrepresented and historically excluded communities in our work. This involves integrating diverse perspectives into our approach and elevating the experiences of the most vulnerable. By ensuring all voices have a seat at the table, and allowing diverse communities to lead, we aim to shape a more equitable future for everyone.

Integrity

Integrity means being genuine and aligning your actions with your values. It involves trustworthiness, honesty, and equity, ensuring that your words and actions match. Integrity is about embracing authenticity, treating others well, and consistently doing what’s right, even when it’s difficult.

Learning

Learning is a non-linear process that balances organizational responsibility with listening to communities. It involves adapting strategies based on community needs, repeatedly checking in with affected groups, and a willingness to shift when new information comes in. By leveraging insights from data, public input, and diverse sources, learning helps refine policies for effective, community-focused outcomes.
